Important ways to pack a printer while planning to move it

If you are shifting to or from Bangalore then this blog is definitely going to be helpful for you. It is always better to hire packers and movers in Bangalore for packing and moving such hefty items while relocating.

When you are packing a computer for the purpose of relocation, it is important that you take care of all the computer peripheral devices as well because they are also necessary such as a keyboard, CPU, mouse, scanner, microphone, speakers and the like.

Why do you think that moving a printer is the most difficult thing to do?

When you think this way then printers is extremely delicate part of computer, it doesn’t matter how strong it may look. If don’t handle it in a proper way, there is a chance that the printer can get damaged forever and that might cost you a lot midst of all the expenses you are doing for the move. If a moving box packed with a printer is not padded properly and gets dropped by mistake, then it would become very difficult for you to do such things on your own.

1. Prepare your moving box for the move

If you have the original box that must have come with the printer at the time of purchase then that’s great news. These original boxes are specially designed according to the measurements to protect fragile items during the haul. When it comes to a printer they you should use a sturdy box.

• Because of the extra thick insulation they protect the box well

• They keep the valuables immobilized while shifting

If you still have the original printer box stored somewhere in your house, then you are all set to use the container to pack up the printing device. If not, you’ll have to arrange for some other sturdy box.

Look for a sturdy cardboard box that is lump sum 4 inches bigger than the printer from all the sides – you’ll definitely need some more space so that you can fix the printer in it once it’s been padded well.

2. Pack the cartridges separately

Make sure you don’t leave toner cartridges and ink cartridges in the printer itself while relocating it between two houses. If you do anything of that kind, then you may get ink or toner powder to take out the cartridges for your convenience.

It’s very essential to remember that that ink that is spilled or toner powder can leave stubborn stains on the surfaces it touches – it is very difficult to remove such stains. Moreover, spilled ink can cause a huge damage to some of the components inside the printer as well.

So, eliminate the risk of packing the cartridges in the printer.

• If you have the manual of your printer then you can read what is written in it to remove the ink cartridge or toner cartridge safely.

• Take a soft packing paper and wrap the cartridge as the very first layer of protection.

• You can also take a plastic bag that is resalable so that you can catch the ink that could still leak during the transit.

• Put the bag into a separate small cardboard box that will also pick the printer cables, other parts of printer such as removable prints, and other types of stuff such as the printer manual.

3. Secure the printer cables

It is very tough to pack the printer cables when you are packing a printer for your move. From the very first thing, you will have to have the power cable – the wire that you plug into the wall socket to switch the printer on. Almost every time, those power wires cannot be removed from the unit of the printer and will have to be packed in separately. The only way to do such a thing is to secure the power wire to the back side of the printer using a bit of the packing tape.

Secondly, you must also have the USB cable printer that will connect the printing device with that of the computer. All these wires are easily removable, so make sure you remove them safely from the computer, and then you can remove the printer. Then, you are all set to pack the printer into the small box available for accessories, together with the secured printer cartridges.

4. Pack the printer with bubble wrap

Once you have found a box that is suitable for your printer, remove the cartridges and secure the cables and then your printer is all ready to be transported.

• REMOVE all the papers from the paper tray.

• Make sure you detach all the printer trays, plastic sheets, or other printer parts that can be detached and pack them inside the box that you have made for your printer accessories

• Make sure you close all the trays that are non-removable, panels, or doors of the printer and secure them with the help of tape so they don’t get open during the transit.

• POSITION a large sheet of bubble wrap on a desk or a table, or directly on the floor, and then you can keep the printer in the middle.

• Then pack the entire printer with the help of bubble wrap.

5. Pack the printer in the box

This is the final step for packing a printer for the purpose of relocation. It is the right time to transfer the protected printing device in the box so that we can begin with the journey to the new house.

• Put all the packing peanuts in the box to cover the bottom. Make sure you cover it properly so that the bottom is not visible.

• Then you can transfer the printer in the moving box and all the other devices in the packing peanuts and in the middle of the boxes so that there are some equal bags.

This is how you can pack your printer and move it to your new house. If you think that you won’t be able to do it on your own then you should hire movers and packers in Bangalore for better assistance.
